Meke has this March to make it

By Joseph Dumbula The permutations are plainly clear for the Malawi national football team and coach Meke Mwase knows this March is meant to make it. Nothing less. ย Nothing short of the two wins.

And now, with bottom ranked side South Sudan in sight first, what the technical panel well reckons a win in Khartoum will revitalize that needed lifeline.  This of course, will have to be done without giving an ear to what transpires between Uganda and Burkina Faso.

The Flames have it all this March.

But, if you ask me, Mwase has it all to start from building from the 1 nil win against the Bright Stars in November 2019. The premise for this encounter is that the last match against Uganda will be in Blantyre six days from 24th March.

Now,  let us remember that the Flames are third in group B with four points, four behind leaders Burkina Faso while Uganda are second with seven points. South Sudan anchor the group with three points.

Two top teams from the group will qualify for the 2022 AFCON finals to be held in Cameroon.

The tall order remains in the fact that football has been idle for long. Sanctioning an early camp for locally based players was way right. The puzzle now must remain on how to blend the winning and scoring tactics, feats that have been hard in recent years.

Otherwise, itโ€™s a March to march and Meke has it all to remind us of the 2010 Afcon times by claiming these six points.
